NEW YORK, N.Y. & WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Jewish Women International CEO Meredith Jacobs released the following joint statement with Hadassah National President Rhoda Smolow and CEO Naomi Adler, National Council of Jewish Women CEO Sheila Katz, and Network of Jewish Human Services Agencies President & CEO Reuben Rotman, in response to the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on Strengthening Access to Affordable, High-Quality Contraception and Family Planning Services:

“Complete reproductive freedom includes the right to access all forms of contraception. Since the Supreme Court’s decision one year ago to overturn Roe v. Wade, reproductive freedom has been threatened nationwide. We’re proud to support the Biden Administration’s continued efforts to support health, including the ability to access all forms of contraception. The Jewish community has and continues to be at the forefront of the fight for reproductive health, rights and access, and our organizations will continue to advocate for federal and state actions to safeguard this right, and ensure all women have the autonomy to make reproductive health decisions based on medical guidance, their own values and what they feel is best for their health, their families and their future.”

Jewish Women International (JWI) is the leading Jewish organization working to end violence against women and girls domestically and internationally. JWI's National Center on Domestic & Sexual Violence in the Jewish Community is the hub of resources, trainings, and research to support the field. A Steering Committee member of the National Task Force to End Sexual and Domestic Violence, JWI’s advocacy efforts focus on the passage of legislation that supports women and girls, ensures their economic security, and protects their right to live free of violence.
