1. Tell Congress to prioritize gun violence prevention.

One year after President Biden passed the first major piece of gun safety legislation in three decades (the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which has already saved countless lives and for which JWI was a vocal advocate), U.S. House Democrats are now launching an effort to push forward votes on three critical gun violence prevention measures: The Bipartisan Background Checks Act, the Enhanced Background Checks Act, and the Assault Weapons Ban. Tell your representatives in Congress how you feel about common-sense gun violence prevention legislation. 

2. Get informed (tomorrow) about guns and domestic violence.

Gun laws prohibiting domestic abusers from possessing firearms are being challenged in federal courts. The intersection between gun violence and domestic violence is staggering, and laws that prohibit abusers from obtaining firearms have proven to save lives. 3. Share our statement re: contraception access.

President Biden has issued an Executive Order on Strengthening Access to Affordable, High-Quality Contraception and Family Planning Services. Contraception is an essential component of reproductive health care that has only become more important in the wake of Dobbs and the ensuing crisis in women’s access to health care.
