Finally, after five years of intense deliberation, the Senate is getting ready to introduce a bipartisan Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA). We need your help to make it happen!
On Wednesday, January 12th share an hour of your time with us, the National Task Force to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (NTF), and thousands of other Americans to learn more about VAWA and call your Senators. Follow JWI's social media to find out which celebrity will be speaking at this event and get the registration link.
January is Stalking Awareness Month. Did you know? Between 6 and 7.5 million people are stalked each year in the U.S.
However, many victims don’t identify that they’ve been stalked, as stalking behaviors have been normalized in the media. Some popular examples are the songs “Every Breath You Take” and “You Belong With Me."
Throughout the month, follow along with JWI's campaign on social media to learn more. Visit the Stalking Awareness, Prevention, and Resource Center (SPARC) for additional tips on supporting friends experiencing stalking.
The Global Health, Empowerment and Rights (Global HER) Act will permanently repeal the global gag rule. This rule prohibits foreign nongovernmental organizations from receiving U.S. funding if they used their own funds to provide any services or information related to abortion.
January 28th will be the one-year anniversary of the Biden Administration repealing the rule. However, this can be undone at any time if the Global HER Act is not passed by Congress.
Email your members of Congress and tell them to pass the Global HER Act to support the bodily autonomy and health of women everywhere.
