1. Speak out for the Child Tax Credit.

The Child Tax Credit provided much-needed relief to millions of families – lifting children out of poverty, helping parents pay for child care so they could go to work, and contributing to essential bills. This child tax credit was part of the government’s emergency response to Covid-19, but it expired. The American Family Act of 2023 would reinstate this vital support. No child should live in poverty: Contact your representative to urge support for this vital legislation!

2. Keep gun dealers honest.

While only about 5% of gun dealers supply illegal guns, some 90% of guns recovered from crime scenes are illegal! Addressing this supply side of illegal guns will have a real impact on crimes! The Keeping Gun Dealers Honest Act would authorize more frequent inspections of gun dealers and strengthen penalties for serious offenses like failing to perform federally required background checks. Call your House representative to voice your support for this action.

3. Protect the right to prevent pregnancy.

The right to have and to use contraception (recognized by the Supreme Court over 60 years ago) is fundamental, but Congress needs to pass federal legislation assuring that no state can take action to limit this right. The Right to Contraception Act protects an individual’s ability to access and use contraceptives and protects a health care provider’s ability to provide contraceptives. Call your congressperson to voice your support for our right to prevent pregnancy!
