JWI believes that within every girl lies the seed for greatness.

Our mission is to give her every opportunity to succeed, by ensuring that she's financially secure and safe in her home and her relationships.

From childhood, through her first relationship, her first job... as she finds her voice and discovers her talents... until she reaps the rewards of decades of hard work and smart choices... JWI looks out for women at every critical juncture of their lives.

Inspired by our legacy of progressive women’s leadership and guided by our Jewish values, JWI works to ensure that all women and girls thrive in healthy relationships, control their financial futures and realize the full potential of their personal strength.

When she needs comfort in a shelter, we build her a library.

For kids who've had to flee their homes to escape domestic violence, JWI's National Library Initiative is building 100 children’s libraries in battered women’s shelters nationwide. And for their mothers, we send bouquets of roses and financial literacy resources to more than 200 shelters across the U.S. each Mother’s Day.

When she opens her first bank account, we show her how to build an independent future.

JWI's Financial Literacy Institute houses programs for women of all ages – from high school to retirement. Our Life$avings® workshops teach girls and women the smartest ways to save, spend and invest what they earn, at all the important milestones of their lives.

When she starts her first relationship, we help her set the boundaries.

With one in three teens experiencing some form of abuse from a dating partner, youth groups, camps and schools are using JWI's programs to teach young people how to communicate respectfully and establish healthy boundaries. Our bystander program trains adults to spot red flags for abuse in teen relationships and step in when needed.

When she gets to college, we're changing the culture for a safer campus.

JWI partners nationally with SDT sorority and ZBT fraternity to address the epidemic of sexual assault on college campuses with Safe Smart Dating, a co-ed program sparking conversations around consent and bystander intervention in the college Greek community.

When she finds her voice as a leader, we make sure she's heard.

In the White House and throughout Capitol Hill, JWI is a respected advocate for legislation and public policies that strengthen women’s safety, health and economic security. Our issue areas include violence against women in the U.S. and abroad, reproductive rights, gun violence prevention, and pay equity.

When she begins her career, we help her climb the ladder.

JWI’s Young Women’s Leadership Network* connects Jewish professional women in their 20s and 30s to a network of inspiring role models from a diversity of fields. Monthly YWLN events include skill-building workshops, "power lunches," social action projects and Shabbat dinners, and each year we host a mentoring conference in Washington, D.C.

When she starts a family, we advocate for her right to thrive at home and at work.

Basic rights like reproductive choice, affordable health care, paid sick leave, pay equity, child care and financial literacy empower women – at every stage of life – to break the cycles of both poverty and domestic abuse. JWI advocates for laws and workplace policies that give women a fair chance to sustain jobs, support their families and achieve their dreams.

When she achieves her goals, we celebrate her accomplishments.

Each year, 10 women leaders are profiled in JWI's award-winning JW magazine and honored at our Women to Watch gala. Weaving together leadership and mentorship, our Young Women’s Leadership Conference gives younger women, just starting their careers, a chance to meet and learn from
Women to Watch honorees.

When she gets ready to retire, we make sure she's financially prepared.

JWI's "Know Your Worth" financial literacy program educates women over 50 with an eye toward long-term economic security. Created in partnership with Hadassah, this workshop covers a wide range of topics including investments, social security and legacy planning.
