JWI and our Consortium of Interfaith partners are providing training and technical assistance on engaging men and boys from faith communities in the prevention of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. This TTA is available to CYEM and other OVW grantees and partners as well as potential grantees. The grant was awarded to JWI by the US Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) because of JWI's deep expertise in engaging men and boys of faith in prevention work.
The objectives of the TTA are to:
Cultivate meaningful connections with faith leaders: Customized TTA and resources are helping grantees establish meaningful collaborations with predominantly male faith leaders, recognizing their influential role within their communities.
Engage men and boys of faith in your programming: Through tailored TTA, we are working with grantees to actively involve men and boys of faith in their efforts to prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking
Enhance cultural competency: Increased cultural competency is helping grantees create relationships with faith leadership and develop highly nuanced prevention programs appropriate for men and boys of various faiths.
In collaboration with our Interfaith Consortium, JWI will help grantees to be inclusive of faith communities in their work to prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.
