For kids whose lives have been upended by violence, JWI creates children's libraries inside of domestic violence shelters, providing a safe place to relax, escape into a book, and keep up with homework when they're most at risk of falling behind.

A note from Roxie:

For my Mitzvah Project I chose to work with JWI Library Initiative because I love reading. It has always been a big part of my life, and I think that everyone should be given the opportunity to read. I know that it has always helped me through some hard times, and I want to help others as well. I hope by collecting these books I can build a space where other kids can feel safe.
