3. This month JWI is providing you with important resources for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM).

In a nutshell: One in three teens is a victim of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from a dating partner, and 43% of college women report violent or abusive dating behaviors.

Take Action: You can change these statistics! Use JWI’s workshop, “Dating Abuse: Tools for Talking to Teens,” to teach your community how to have realistic and successful conversations with teens about healthy relationships.

2. Comprehensive reproductive care is essential to every woman's health, but anti-abortion lawmakers continue to push for harmful restrictions to access.

In a nutshell: The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) in Congress could safeguard the right to access abortion care, no matter where a person lives.

Take Action: This Wednesday (2/12) at 10:00 a.m., the Health Subcommittee in the House of Representatives will hold a hearing on the WHPAUrge your Representative to co-sponsor the bill, and tune in to the hearing!

1. It is illegal for schools to discriminate on the basis of sex - unless they apply for a religious exemption waiver from the federal government. The Administration plans to extend this exemption to more educational institutions, jeopardizing students who do not conform to their school’s religious or “moral” beliefs.

In a nutshell: Expanding religious exemptions under Title IX could allow schools to expel students for being LGBTQ, taking birth control, having sex, or doing anything that the school deems "immoral."

Take Action: Use the National Women’s Law Center template comment to stand against discrimination and oppose this rule. The deadline to submit your comment is Tuesday, 2/18!
