3. Auschwitz was liberated 75 years ago today.

In a nutshell: The anti-Semitism at the heart of the Holocaust is, unfortunately, still beating today. Nothing short of vigilance against prejudice and intolerance can prevent future genocides and other atrocities.

Take Action: JWI endorsed a bipartisan resolution, sponsored by Reps. Zeldin (R-NY), Meng (D-NY), and Deutch (D-FL), that honors the millions of Jews and other minorities annihilated by the Nazi regime, and reaffirms the American commitment to “Never Again.” Tell your Representative to support this resolution as well!

2. Millions of U.S. workers are being penalized for taking time off to care for themselves and their families.

In a nutshell: The FAMILY Act would provide up to twelve weeks of partial income for workers to deal with serious health conditions (their own or their families’) and/or the birth or adoption of a child.

Take Action: On Tuesday this bill will be debated in the House Ways & Means Committee. Call, email, and use social media to urge your Representative to support this important bill!

1. It’s a new decade – time to build on the #MeToo movement with structural, institutional, and cultural change to end sexual harassment and assault in the workplace.

In a nutshell: Our partners at Futures Without Violence have released the “Everyday Activist Guide for Ending Workplace Sexual Harassment and Assault,” setting a framework for “everyday activists” to promote safety, respect, and equity in their workplaces.

Take Action: Take a page from some real heroines who’ve battled harassment and assault at work, and become an “everyday activist” yourself!
