The war in Ukraine is having a devastating impact on millions of lives, and there are so many important ways we can – and must – help. JWI has a long relationship with Project Kesher, a Jewish women's leadership nonprofit in Ukraine that trains community and religious leaders to be effective organizers on domestic violence within the Ukrainian Jewish community.
Project Kesher needs our help now more than ever. Please consider supporting Project Kesher to support the countless Jewish women in their community affected by this war.
26 states are likely to ban abortion if Roe v. Wade falls in the upcoming Supreme Court decisions. The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) will defend against this and ensure that people can access abortions wherever they live.
The Senate vote on WHPA is taking place tonight. It’s not too late, email your senators and urge them to pass this critical act now.
President Biden’s first State of the Union Address will take place tomorrow night at 9 pm ET. Watch it on YouTube and join JWI for a fun bingo game on the legislative priorities he mentions!
The Florida House passed legislation prohibiting schools from discussing sexuality and gender with students, while in Texas the governor ordered the Department of Family and Protective Services to investigate parents for child abuse if they support their trans child by providing them with gender-affirming medical treatments.
To stand up against these unjustifiable measures, make sure you are registered to vote and participate in Equality Florida’s phone bank series, “We Won’t Be Erased”.
