1. Stalking Awareness Month
Nearly 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men experience stalking at some point in their life. Stalking is a dangerous crime that involves a pattern of behavior that makes an individual fear for themselves and/or others – and it is the only criminal offense that involves repeated victimization of the targeted individual.
This Stalking Awareness Month, register for Stalking Prevention Awareness Resource's (SPARC) 4-part series to better help identify and respond if a colleague, friend, or family member is a victim of this crime.

2. New salary transparency laws take effect
On Jan. 1 of 2023, salary range transparency laws went into effect in three states (California, Washington, and Rhode Island). This is an important step in women’s economic security since research has long shown that salary range transparency helps close wage gaps.
In the face of glaring salary disparities, it is imperative that more state legislatures pass bills to mandate salary range transparency. Learn about the salary transparency laws in your state and how you can advocate for pay transparency legislation.

3. Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act is finally LAW!
After months of powerful advocacy, by you and millions of others, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) was FINALLY signed into law in the final days of 2022. On June 27, 2023 the law will go into effect, guaranteeing workers the affirmative right to receive reasonable accommodations for known limitations stemming from pregnancy and childbirth.
Check to see if your senators voted in favor of PWFA and thank them if they did! This victory will benefit the health and economic security of millions of women and children.
