321ACTION: Learn about gun violence prevention, show up at a town hall, VOTE!

Ready to make a difference?

Here are three ways to get started:

1. Check to see how your city rates on gun violence prevention efforts

We have all become too accustomed to the gun violence that plagues our cities and communities.

Government – at the federal, state, and local level – has an important role to play in effectively addressing the gun violence epidemic. Read Community Justice Action Fund’s recently released City Violence Prevention Index and scorecard to learn about how 50 of the largest U.S. cities are working to reduce gun violence.

How well is your city preventing gun violence?

2. Meet your lawmakers while they are home

Your U.S. senators and representatives are home until Congress resumes on September 6th. Now is the perfect time to talk to them about the issues that matter most to you.

Check to see if your congresspeople are holding town halls or other public appearances and use Planned Parenthood’s Congressional Race Guide to develop a plan for how to engage with your elected officials.

3. Update your voter registration

With the primaries behind us, there is no better time to make sure your voter registration is up to date! If you have moved recently, whether for college or retirement, update your voter registration information so you can vote in the approaching gubernatorial and mid-term elections on November 8th.

Voting is the most direct way to make your voice heard!
