Congress has just one week left in session before adjourning until after the election. Their primary task in the remaining days before the recess is to temporarily fund the federal government. 

 Lawmakers have reached a deal to extend existing federal funding until December 20, and the House is expected to vote on the deal early this week, then send it to the Senate for final passage.

3. Learn the deadly consequences of overturning Roe v. Wade

Before Roe v. Wade found a constitutional right to abortion access, hundreds of women died from abortion-related preventable deaths annually.

2.  Urge Congress to pass the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act

The Crime Victims Fund, which is the primary source of funding for victim services nationwide,  is facing a dire shortfall. 

 New reporting from the Washington Post illustrates the impact of last year’s funding cuts and highlights the danger posed by further expected cuts. 

 Please email your members of Congress and urge them to pass the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act. If you have already emailed them, it’s fine to email them again!

1. Support Safe Leave

The Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau has just released three important new products to educate communities about paid safe leave from work for victims and survivors of crime who need time off of work to seek safety and services and to participate in the legal process.
