321ACTION: 5 key priorities for Congress, FMLA Anniversary, Holocaust Memorial Day
Ready to make a difference?
Here are three ways to get started:
1. 5 gender-equity priorities for Congress
With so much at stake as Congress resumes its 118th session, JWI along with more than 100 gender equity organizations delivered an open letter to Congress detailing 5 key priorities for the gender justice movement.
We asked our elected leaders to 1) protect health, reproductive freedom, and bodily autonomy, 2) ensure economic security for women and families, 3) advance policies to reduce gender-based violence, 4) advance democracy, voting, rights, and gender equality, and 5) advance justice for immigrants and their families.

2. Honor 30 years of job-protected family leave
As we celebrate the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA)’s 30th anniversary, it is important to remember that FMLA (while important) is NOT enough to meet the needs of employees who need to care for family members and loved ones. FMLA guarantees 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for eligible workers and was the first – but hopefully not the last – national law that helps workers take the time they need without having to choose between their families and livelihood.
FMLA is a perfect example of what we can accomplish when we all focus on what we can do together to make life better for American families. We must continue to fight for #PaidLeaveForAll.

3. Support Holocaust education
Hatred directed against Jewish people is nothing new, but in recent years the widespread, insidious anti-Semitic rhetoric and violence extremism against Jews has reached dangerous levels.
In committing ourselves to build a safer, more equitable world that is free of violence, we recognize how essential education is to combatting bigotry in all of its forms and fully support the introduction of the bipartisan Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons (HEAL) Act of 2023.
Ask your Representative to support the HEAL Act to direct the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to conduct a study on Holocaust education efforts in public schools nationwide.
Ask your Rep. to co-sponsor the HEAL Act
