Women’s Impact Network and Young Women’s Impact Network members:
Please join us for an exclusive discussion with Wendy Sachs, director of the new film Surge, a feature documentary about the record number of first-time female candidates who ran, won, and upended politics in the historic, barrier-breaking 2018 midterm elections.
The film follows three candidates in Texas, Indiana, and Illinois - including Lauren Underwood, the youngest Black woman to ever be elected to Congress - who each ran in uphill battles to flip their deep red districts to blue. Susan W. Turnbull, 2018 Democratic nominee for Maryland lieutenant governor and former JWI board chair, will moderate the discussion.
Watch the film before this event (now playing on Showtime, Amazon Prime, and Hulu), become a Network member (if you haven’t already), then join us to have all your questions answered! We also invite you to register, as your guests, any young women in your life who would like to be part of the night's discussion.
