Each year 20 million people are displaced from their homes because of climate change and the resulting natural disasters - but there is hope. Earlier this month at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference, countries around the world agreed on action steps to address the ongoing climate crisis.

This Hanukkah, on December 2nd at 8:00 p.m. ET, join Dayenu for “Lighting the Way: Jewish Song, Art, and Activism in the Climate Movement,” a performance and conversation to give hope and drive change. Read about how Jewish teachings around Hanukkah can be translated into action around climate change.

Abortion rights hang in the balance this week as the Supreme Court begins hearings for Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

On December 1st, in Washington, D.C., show the Supreme Court that they must uphold the right to abortion by:

  • Joining the rally at the steps of the Supreme Court at 7:30 a.m. ET

  • Attending the Interfaith Gathering at 7:45 a.m. ET (location to be shared with those who RSVP)

  • Attending the Women’s March training at Columbus Circle at 1:30 p.m. ET

The International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence continues until December 10th. Gender-based violence is recognized as the most prevalent form of violence globally - yet victims of this violence face numerous barriers to achieving justice through the criminal justice system.

Join Valiant Voices on December 2nd at 1:00 p.m. ET for, “Testimonies of Gender-Based Violence and the Path to Justice,” a conversation regarding how respect and safety for survivors can be prioritized in the criminal justice system.

  • The SAFE Study (Ibis Reproductive Health, Colectiva Feminista La Revuelta in Argentina, & Generation Initiative for Women and Youth Nigeria, November 2021) - This study found that self-managed abortion with medications and accompaniment group support is highly effective and safe.
