321ACTION: Disarming abusers, abortion medication, and paid family leave
Ready to make a difference?
Here are three ways to get started:
1. Support the disarming of dating violence abusers and stalkers
New bipartisan legislation was introduced in Congress to protect survivors of dating violence and stalking by closing loopholes that allow abusers and stalkers access to guns – even people with active restraining orders against them.
We know that abusers are extremely dangerous when they're armed – to their current and former partners and to the larger communities. This is a commonsense gun reform that would save lives. Tell your members of Congress to support the Strengthening Protections for Domestic Violence and Stalking Survivors Act of 2023.

2. Stand up for the right to abortion access
A federal judge in Texas could rule as early as this week on an important case that could potentially block the use of an abortion medication across the entire country (impacting states even where the procedure is legal). This is one of many tactics anti-abortion activists and politicians have using to deny women access to abortion and a full range of reproductive health care.

3. Learn how states are expanding family leave
On February 5th we marked the 30th anniversary of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and while it was a landmark achievement that has enabled millions of employees to take leave, the law’s restrictive eligibility and the unpaid nature of the leave has meant that millions more have been left without access.
To fill those the gaps, many states and cities have passed laws that expand eligibility and guarantee paid family and medical leave. To learn more about paid leave’s success, join the Center for American Progress and the National Partnership for Women and Families for a conversation between the Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan (D) and President of the National Partnership Jocelyn Frye.
