321ACTION: Demand commonsense gun laws to save children's lives
Ready to make a difference?
Here are three ways to get started:
1. Demand gun laws to save children
This morning there was yet another heartbreaking school shooting that left 3 children and 3 adults dead. This is 1 of the 13 school shootings so far this year that has devastated communities and terrified millions of parents.
More than two-thirds of parents worry about school shootings, but what most don’t consider is that for far too many children, being at home can be even more dangerous than school. In fact, 3x as many children were shot in domestic violence incidents then in school shootings, and 8x as many died as a result of domestic violence.
Dangerous people should not be able to access firearms, period. Our elected officials must pass common sense laws to mandate background checks on all gun sales and close loopholes that allow perpetrators of violence to have firearms. #DoSomething

2. Learn how abortion bans are harming maternal healthcare
19 million women in the U.S. live in reproductive health deserts. As doctors flee from states over abortion bans, this number is increasing.
The outcomes of anti-abortion policies don’t only drastically reduce women’s access to abortion, they reduce access to physicians and nurses who specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. In states with abortion bans, labor and delivery departments are closing because of a lack of medical professionals.
There is already a crises of maternal mortality, and with fewer doctors able to perform lifesaving procedures and surgeries, even more women will die in childbirth. These abortion bans are an attack on ALL women’s healthcare.

3. Attend a webinar on the current housing crisis
Every night in America 600,000 people are unhoused and millions more experience housing insecurity.
The intersection between racism and housing disparities are well documented, as are the ways disability and mental health challenges relate to housing access.
To learn more about the housing crisis and the intersecting issues that perpetuate homelessness, housing insecurity, and a system that undermines wealth building in communities of color, attend a virtual town hall event hosted by the YWCA on April 13th at 3pm ET.
