As you prepare for your seder this evening, JWI invites you to add a flower to your seder plate as a way to stand in solidarity with the women of Israel – to honor the memory of those who we lost at the hands of Hamas and other terrorists, to give hope to those who survived, and to share our strength with those who are still held hostage. Ready to make a difference?
Here are three ways to get started:
1. Urge your members of Congress to cosponsor a bill to hold Hamas accountable!
Members of Congress have introduced a bipartisan, bicameral resolution calling on the United Nations Security Council to open an official investigation into Hamas’s perpetration of sexual violence on October 7 and ongoing sexual violence against the hostages. Click here to email your members of Congress and urge them to cosponsor this resolution.
2. Urge your members of Congress to cosponsor the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act!
Federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) victim service grants were cut by a devastating $630 million (40%) in Fiscal Year 2024 due to lack of funds in VOCA’s Crime Victims Fund. House champions for victims and survivors have introduced the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act to prevent further cuts. Click here to email your Representative and urge them to cosponsor this critical bill.
3. Raise awareness about National Youth Violence Prevention Week!
This week is National Youth Violence Prevention Week. Use this toolkit from our colleagues at Sandy Hook Promise to raise awareness!
