321: Women's History Month, Repro support, & UN events
Ready to make a difference?
Here are three ways to get started:
1. Celebrate Women’s History Month
This Women’s History Month, turn towards the women and girls in your family to learn, grow, and be amazed at female accomplishments. Each of us has made an impact in the world, but often these acts go unacknowledged.
At some point this month, ask the women in your family to tell you about a time they made an impact. Make sure to really listen. Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have to better understand our family and ourselves.

2. Navigate a complicated abortion landscape
Access to abortion has been banned or severely limited in 24 states. With new laws and legal cases pending, both people seeking abortion and providers hoping to serve these clients are confused and unsure of how to access these services or refer clients to abortion providers.
The Abortion Defense Network was recently launched to help connect abortion providers to legal services, representation, and financial assistance, while abortion patients can continue to access If/When/How’s Repro Legal Helpline to support people navigating complex laws.

3. Attend “side events” at the UN CSW
The 67th session of the United Nation’s session of the Commission on the Status of Women convenes today. Member states are gathering at the UN to evaluate progress towards gender equality, identify challenges, and set global standards towards gender equality.
You can participate by joining virtual “side events” on a variety of topics including critical discussions on “Ending Child, Early, and Forced Marriage in East Africa” hosted by our colleagues at the Women’s Refugee Commission on March 8th at 9am ET and “Technology & Innovation: Threat or Opportunity for Women’s Safety” sponsored by our coalition partners at the National Network to End Domestic Violence on March 15th at 10:30m ET.
