YWIN Seattle: Empowerment in Action

  • Address provided with registration Seattle, WA 98115 United States (map)

Join us as we celebrate Simchat Torah, honor our community's resilience, and reflect on the one-year anniversary of the Black Sabbath. Together, we will embrace these moments of reflection and empowerment, reinforcing our commitment to making a meaningful impact.

We are honored to welcome Washington State Representative Tana Senn as our special guest for an empowering roundtable discussion. As a working mom and passionate advocate for women and families, Rep. Senn will share her unique insights on legislative issues like closing the gender pay gap, advancing common-sense gun laws, and viewing abortion access as a Jewish value. With her deep connection to her Jewish heritage, she’ll offer reflections on her experiences as a female Jewish elected official and how we can all make a meaningful difference in today’s political climate.

Tikkun Olam
In the spirit of taking action, we encourage you to bring menstrual product donations to help us assemble period poverty kits. Together, we will honor this evening’s milestones not only through conversation but also by making a tangible impact in the lives of others.

Representative Tana Senn

As the State Representative for the 41st Legislative District, Rep. Senn chairs the Human Services, Youth & Early Learning Committee and serves on several others, including Appropriations and Veterans. She is also the co-founder of the Mom's Caucus, a group of legislators committed to supporting families and advocating for policies that help them thrive.

Rep. Senn's education and public policy background, with degrees from Washington University and Columbia University, paved the way for her 15-year career in government relations and communications across the private, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors before her time on the Mercer Island City Council.

In addition to her legislative work, Rep. Senn serves as co-president of the National Association of Jewish Legislators and sits on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue and UW's Master's in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology program. She has also served on boards for Hopelink, the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, and the Mercer Island Youth & Family Services Foundation.

She lives with her husband, children, and black lab on Mercer Island. During the off-season, you can find Tana hiking on one of the numerous trails across the district or enjoying a good meal and glass of wine at one of the local restaurants.
