Meet the Speakers:
Amy Zitelman, Cofounder and CEO of Soom Foods
Amy graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication in 2011 and spent the following year soaking up Israeli culture and teaching English in Israel. She's been talkin’ tahini since January of 2013. Amy is author of The Tahini Table, Go Beyond Hummus with 100 Recipes for Every Meal and in Between and was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2018 List for the Food and Drink category. Amy lives outside Philadelphia with her husband Darren and young sons Henry, Jesse and Miles.
Shelby Zitelman, Sr. VP of Business Development, Zitelman Partners; co-founder and President of the Board, Soom Foods
As the Sr. VP of Business Development at Zitelman Partners, Shelby is responsible for developing relationships with new Operating and Investor Partners, marketing, and overseeing the firm’s internal operations. Previously Shelby worked in start-up management and operations. Early in her career she worked for Ben Franklin Technology Partners and then as the US co-Director of PresenTense. Most recently she was the co-founder and COO of Soom Foods, where she currently serves as President of the Board. She was named to the Philadelphia Business Journal 40 Under 40 in 2019, and graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2007. Shelby lives in Center City Philadelphia with her husband, Dan Stamm, and their three fun-loving boys, Malcolm, Julius and Simon. She enjoys spending her time exploring kid-friendly Philadelphia, hiking the area’s nature trails and practicing yoga. She is a member of the Jewish Federation of Philadelphia Board of Trustees, the Jewish Relief Agency Finance Committee, the American Living Organ Donor Fund Board and the Twist Out Cancer Advisory Board, and has been a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters for 14 years.
