Meet the Speakers:
Deborah Bucksbaum
Deborah Bucksbaum is slated to become Board Chair of Jewish Family Service of San Diego in July 2023. She helped found, and for five years chaired, the JFS Advocacy Committee and is spearheading an effort to bring affordable housing into the array of services provided by JFS.
During her nearly 40-year career as an attorney, Deborah has worked for large multi-national law firms, served as chief legal officer for an affordable housing developer, and, in 1993, co-founded the first 100% women-owned business litigation firm in California.
Since graduating Georgetown law school in 1982, Deborah has been passionate about forging a path for women to find success in the world of law and business in a way that is uniquely true for them. Her Jewish roots instilled in her a passion for social justice, and throughout her adult life she has participated in efforts to repair the world, from working with victims of domestic violence early in her career to her current involvement with JFS.
Deborah lives in San Diego with her partner and their two dogs. She raised a son to be committed to social justice and women’s rights, and delights in watching him and her two entrepreneurial step-daughters take the world by storm. Learn more.
