Our Speakers

Daryn Schwartz

Daryn is a Georgia girl, born and bred who moved to Chicago a little over six years ago with her job at the time. She spent 15+ years in advertising and marketing until she had the epiphany that she wasn’t doing what she was meant to be doing with her life. She had a great career that she developed over many years, but she knew there was more for her out there. She wanted to feel personally connected to what she was doing and needed to find what made her heart beat a little bit faster… a little over two years ago, during savasana in a yoga class in LA, this idea for a super soulful yoga studio washed over her. Daryn set out to create a unique and elevated yoga experience that helped people get out of their heads and into their souls. It was a long two plus years with many twists and turns, doubts and fears, but somehow, she managed to continue putting one foot in front of the other and opened The Space Between in River North in September.

Kacie Diamond

Kacie is the host and executive producer of Cold Sweat Podcast. What is "Cold Sweat"? Any active Chicagoan knows the feeling: Killing it in your favorite workout class du jour, only to then have to bundle up a coat over your dripping sweat and head out into a blizzard. Kacie knows the feeling all too well, considering herself a "studio-hopper," jumping from class to class and enjoying the ride. She loves the chatter before and after class, discussing new fitness trends and studios, which is how she came up with the idea of Cold Sweat Podcast. It's all about the fitness, health, and wellness scene in Chicago with the goal to bring together the conversations and questions floating around studio lobbies and give them a place to flourish. She has since expanded Cold Sweat to include curated events and promotions, establishing herself and her brand as a go-to resource in the Chicago fitness and wellness world.

Jamie Norris

Jamie fell in love with yoga in high school. She remembers leaving her first class feeling both humbled and empowered. She was drawn to the physical and mental challenges that yoga provided and was automatically hooked! She became curious about the magic behind the physical practice of yoga and obtained her 500-hour certification in Therapeutic Yoga. Following her certification, Jamie became an apprentice at Bare Feet Power Yoga, where she combined her knowledge of therapeutics with the power of flow.

The practice allows Jamie to explore herself and develop an awareness of how her physical, emotional, and energetic bodies interact with one another. This has helped Jamie to develop a foundation of the self and an appreciation of her body and its limits. She always encourages her students to try new things, tune in, and have fun with their yoga practice.
