Treat yourself to a self-care Sunday that prioritizes your health and your financial future! JWI’s newest financial empowerment and education program gathers San Diego-area women in their 20s and 30s for a monthly mind-body workout that’ll build your financial confidence, boost your well-being, AND connect you with new friends.
Sessions are held in-person from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PT on Sundays - November 7th, December 5th, January 9th, and February 6th. Each session will include a financial literacy workshop - friendly, interactive, and facilitated by experts - and mind/body/wellness exercises led by a local fitness coach, plus a social/snack session at the end.
You can register for individual sessions at $10 each, or for the entire series at just $25*. Either way, you’ll learn skills that you’ll carry - and that may carry you - for the rest of your life.
In keeping with JWI’s commitment to serving the greater good, vaccines will be required. This program is built for women who identify as Jewish, but women of every religious affiliation, race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ability are welcome.

Session 1: How We Feel About Money - Sunday, November 7th
We’ll start the series with a session about the many complex emotions around money. Learn about JWI’s finance philosophy (managing your money is integral to self-care, and everyone should have money in their own name), then break into groups to discuss your personal journey and relationship with money. Everyone will have a chance to talk about their hopes, their fears, and their vision for their financial future. You should come with a detailed list of everything you bought that week, to get you started on the budget you’ll be building in subsequent sessions.
Session 2: Budgets & Debts - Sunday, December 5th
Session two will review everything you spent money on the previous week, and get you started on a budget that sets you up for success. We’ll discuss the why and how of budgeting before starting to build one tailored to your income and lifestyle. Also on the agenda this session: Understanding and managing the different types of debt, protecting your credit score, and planning for future expenses like travel or buying a home.
Session 3: Conversations & Negotiations - Sunday, January 9th
This week’s goal is to make sure you understand your worth! We’ll cover the uncomfortable but critical money conversations that must be had - from negotiating a salary that reflects your worth, to setting financial goals and expectations with your partner, to telling a friend her bachelorette weekend doesn’t fit into your budget. Particular attention will go to your value in the workplace: Understanding pay and benefits, and how to negotiate a package that reflects the value you bring.
Session 4: Your Financial Future - Sunday, February 6th
In the final session, we’ll take a look at the power you’ve gained by exploring and understanding your individual finances. Looking back at what you’ve learned, you’ll be able to assess the goals you set in session one, and how attainable they feel with all of this empowering new knowledge in hand. It should be clear to see the ripple effect of the financial decisions you make today; you may notice lifestyle changes that will put you in better alignment with your goals. You’ll come away from this session with a vision and a plan for a bright financial future.
