New York YWIN Board Members

Sasha Bloch, VP of Programming

As ADL's Associate Director of Leadership, Sasha Bloch manages meetings, events, and international travel opportunities for the Board of Directors and ADL ACT, the national NextGen leadership group. A passionate Jewish professional, she previously served as the Regional Teen Engagement Director of Seaboard USY. She began her career as a middle school ESL and social studies teacher and holds a B.A. and a M.A.T. from American University. Sasha is thrilled to be joining JWI's NY Network Board having previously served on the DC board and as a Champion Circle Captain. She is also proud to volunteer as an Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority advisor and has served as a mentor for Moving Tradition's Kol Koleinu Teen Feminist Fellowship. When she's not frequenting Broadway shows or slaying a 305 Fitness class, Sasha enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her nieces and nephew.

Talia Gurstel, Communications Chair

Talia Gurstel (she/her) grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2017. She moved to New York to attend New York University and received her Master of Arts for Higher Education in 2019. Her professional experiences in the education sector, as well as non-profit work, has influenced her passion for social justice advocacy. Now working in employee learning and development, Talia is excited to support others in their personal learning journeys. In her spare time, Talia loves taking advantage of all NYC can offer including broadway shows, great eats, and the many parks!

Eryn Morgenlander, President

Eryn Morgenlander grew up in New York, and graduated from the University of Florida where she studied Economics, Leadership, and all things Gator Athletics. After college, she moved back to NY to start a career in Finance. For the past year, Eryn has been volunteering as a BBYO (B’nai Brith Youth Organization) chapter advisor in Westchester. When Eryn isn’t busy working and staffing BBYO events, you can find her on the soccer field or a spin bike. She also loves all things food, wine, and travel!

Sarah Schugel, Engagement Chair

Taylor Ross, Personal and Professional Development Chair

Taylor Ross is an actor, event planner and non-profit fundraiser. She graduated from Muhlenberg College with a double major in theater and music, concentrating in musical theater and vocal performance. Amongst her favorite roles are Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray and Eponine in Les Miserables. Following several years on stage, she transitioned to the other side of the curtain, raising money and planning opening nights and patron events for several New York City theater organizations. Furloughed when Broadway shut down during Covid-19, Taylor earned a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Drexel University. She is currently pursuing a professional certification in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Fundraising from Northwestern University. When not raising money or studying, you can find her planning happy hours for the affinity group Jews and Brews, frequenting NYC’s cultural institutions and the Bronx Zoo, as well as celebrating the return of live performance events and the lights on Broadway. She is a member of the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan 20s and 30s Board. Taylor is thankful for the mentoring and friendships JWI provides and is excited to contribute and give back as a member of the JWI board.

Emily Uhlmann, Advocacy Chair

Emily Uhlmann is thrilled to serve as Advocacy Chair, where she is excited to help execute the Jewish values that are most meaningful to her. A Senior Associate in the New York City office for Public Relations and Political Consulting Firm, SKDK, Emily's professional expertise is in politics, communications, and digital strategy. Prior to joining SKDK, Emily worked in Democratic politics for several years. Emily is passionate about advocating for criminal legal reform, LGBTQIA rights, and reproductive freedom. She was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan (Go Blue!) during middle school. Emily graduated Phi Beta Kappa with High Honors in Political Science and Theater from Swarthmore College in 2019.

Lindsey Wagner, DEI Chair

Lindsey Wagner is a business strategy consultant at a New York City government relations firm. Her goal is to create impactful and inclusive connections and opportunities for players across industries. Before starting her current role, she was a political fellow in Washington, D.C. working on nutrition and food policy for Save the Children. Her background in health advocacy campaigns has led her to focus on individual health in the workplace, and the overall impact on the growth and synergy of employees. Currently, she co-leads an initiative in her office focusing on culture and wellness of the workplace. Infusing her training as a 200-hour yoga teacher, she helps drive mindful growth and sustainable change. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017 with a double major in strategic communications and political science with a focus on global health and policy.
