321ACTION: ERA, Paycheck Fairness, and Safeguarding Children from Guns

Ready to make a difference?

Here are three ways to get started:

1. Support the ERA and Sign the Discharge Petition.

Passage of the Equal Rights Amendment could be critical in protecting abortion access and women's rights. Several Democratic congresswomen, including Pressley, Bush, Spanberger, introduced HJ Res 25, a resolution to affirm the ERA and combat sex-based discrimination, but need 218 House members to sign on. Click here to learn if your representative has signed on; if they have not, click here to encourage them to do so.

Of historical note — according to the Jewish Women’s Archive, in 1971, JWI, then known as B’nai B’rith Women was the first Jewish organization to back the ERA.

2. Support the Paycheck Fairness Act (S.728) to close the wage gap.

Women, especially Latinas and Black women, still earn less than men. The Paycheck Fairness Act introduced by Sen. Patty Murray combats wage discrimination, enhances protections against retaliation, and makes it illegal for employers to require wage information secrecy. Tell your senators to support S.728!

3. Watch and share the film Secure Your Gun.

Watch and share "Secure Your Gun" by Brave New Films, advocating for safe gun storage. This powerful short film shares heartbreaking stories of children killed by unsecured firearms and calls for Federal legislation, Ethan's Law, to protect children and prevent tragedies.
