Denise Roden, Director of Finance and Administration, joined JWI in February 2000 and has a combination of over 25 years of financial and human resource experience in the non-profit sector. Prior to JWI, Denise held various positions in finance with The Better Business Bureau of Columbus, Georgia, The Georgia Chiefs of Police Association and The American Machine Tool Distributors Association. Denise serves as the chief financial officer at JWI: responsible for delivering the annual operating budget, overseeing the preparation of the annual audit and day-to-day financial management. She also serves as the human resource director: responsible for creating job descriptions, hiring, terminations, payroll, annual performance evaluations and creating policy and procedure.
Denise is a graduate of Columbia Union College with a BA in Business Administration. Her professional memberships include the American Society of Association Executives and the Society of Human Resource Management. She also spends her time volunteering for the Athletic Association of Friendship Collegiate Charter School. Originally from Alabama, Denise now resides in Washington, DC and enjoys sailing in Annapolis, Maryland.
