Susan Behrend Jerison
Susan Behrend Jerison is the Director of Marketing and Communications. Susan joined JWI in 2006 and is responsible for the organization’s communications strategy, marketing, media relations and publications including Jewish Woman, JWI’s award-winning magazine. In addition, Susan oversees the JWI and magazine websites, email communications and JWI’s expanding social media presence. She also manages JWI’s database team. Susan has over 25 years of experience working in the Jewish community with a background in external relations, board development, communications, program development, and community relations. She served previously as the Vice-President for Governance at International Hillel in Washington DC, and held a variety of other positions there including Vice-President for Program Services and Deputy to the President.
Before joining Hillel, Susan served as the Director of Intergroup Relations for the Jewish Community Relations Council in Philadelphia, and as a Planning Associate for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. She began her career as a legislative aide to Congressman Robert W. Edgar. Susan has BA in political science from Drew University and a Masters in Public Administration from Temple University.
Susan lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and two teenage daughters.
