Loribeth Weinstein

Loribeth Weinstein is the CEO/Executive Director of JWI, an organization of more than 75,000 donors, members and supporters committed to protecting the rights of all women and girls to live in safe homes and thrive in healthy relationships. Under her decade of leadership JWI has created dozens of innovative programs and philanthropic initiatives for women and girls that build safe homes, promote healthy relationships and inspire strong women. Today JWI is a leading organization working in the United States and abroad to empower women and girls – through economic literacy; community training; healthy relationship education; and the creation of initiatives that build women’s leadership.

JWI leads the Jewish community’s efforts to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) as well as the International Violence Against Women Act in Congress (I-VAWA). In addition, JWI created and is the convener of the Interfaith Coalition to End Domestic Abuse – a coalition of more than two dozen national faith organizations, including leaders from the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Mormon, Pentecostal, and Baha’i faiths – dedicated to promoting public policy and federal legislation to end domestic violence.

More than 7,500 people participate in JWI trainings and educational programs each year. The organization’s trainings attract a large professional audience including judges and attorneys, medical professionals and advocates, professors and researchers. JWI’s national advocacy and community education campaigns around healthy relationships, dating violence and financial literacy brings programming to hundreds of teens and their mothers, as well as young adults and young professionals, annually. Jewish Woman magazine, a signature publication for the organization, has been called the premier lifestyle magazine for Jewish women and has received dozens of awards. In particular the magazine spotlights Jewish Women’s leadership and innovative achievements.

In addition to her work with JWI, Lori is a founder of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation (WAWF), which provides more than a million dollars of philanthropic investment in women and girls living in the DC Metropolitan Area each year. She has served on the board of directors of American Jewish World Service and Regional Council of the New Israel Fund and currently serves on the board of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice and the executive board of the National Coalition for Women’s Organizations as well as a number of other organizations.

Lori lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, and has three grown children and two young golden retrievers.
