Who We Are
JWI is the leading Jewish organization empowering women and girls – through economic literacy; community training; healthy relationship education; and the proliferation of women’s leadership. Our innovative programs, advocacy and philanthropic initiatives protect the fundamental rights of all girls and women to live in safe homes, thrive in healthy relationships, and realize the full potential of their personal strength.
Building financial literacy and economic security JWI teaches the importance of financial security across the generations – to girls and their mothers, college graduates and women of all generations.
Ensuring the safety of women, girls and families JWI confronts the issue of violence against women and girls from many sides, from prevention programming for teens and young adults to education and training for thousands of professionals and advocates.
Building unique faith and interfaith alliances JWI spearheads an interdenominational Jewish Clergy Task Force as well as an Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition – both dedicated to preventing and ending gender based violence.
Advocating for at-risk women and girls worldwide JWI’s trusted and expert voice on Capitol Hill advocates for national policy and federal legislation that protects the rights of women and girls around reproductive health, violence protection and economic parity and security.
Women’s Leadership JWI promotes interactive leadership by highlighting and honoring today’s Jewish women leaders to uncovering those who will rise tomorrow; we are constantly encouraging the cycle of inspiration from one generation of Jewish women leaders to the next.
Philanthropic Initiatives JWI invests in projects that underscore our mission and work. From opening brand new children’s libraries to sending special Mother’s Day flowers and gifts to domestic violence shelters in the U.S to supporting the Jerusalem Hills Children’s Home in Israel, all benefit from JWI’s annual giving.
