She has everything. She means everything. There's a JWI Mother's Day card for that.
Send a JWI Mother's Day card to any woman who showed up for you — your mom, your grandma, your mother-in-law, the newest mom you know. Or all of them.
Every card goes directly to her and gifts books to children's libraries in domestic violence shelters across the country through JWI’s National Library Initiative (NLI). With your support, we’ve built 70 children's libraries — and we’re aiming for 100.
JWI Board Chair Michelle Carlson and Liz Wagner of JWI's Advisory Board are matching every card purchase dollar for dollar — up to $75,000 — through April 20.
If we raise the full match, we'll build three new libraries and bring our total to 73.

When you send a card, you gift a book.
Here's what that means.
“When we left our home we were not able to bring our books. The children’s library has been a blessing to us. It offers an opportunity for me and my children to escape to a world of imagination during such a stressful time in our lives.”
- Cindy, shelter resident
“When you live in a violent situation, that becomes your normal. With routines and rituals such as reading and learning together, JWI is redefining what’s normal to a child.”
- Beth, shelter director
“I like the library because it has comfortable chairs and I can read and relax at the same time.”
- Thomas, age 8, at a JWI library in Arizona

It was. We used to send flowers to moms in domestic violence shelters. Now your card gifts books to children in those shelters — books they get to keep.
