As antisemitism and violence against Jews continue to rise, some American Jews have considered buying a gun. What do individuals, families, and communities need to know about when considering gun ownership?

A panel of experts — including security and gun violence solutions experts, federal law enforcement, and a rabbi— will help us understand the complex decision to buy a gun, as well as best practices to promote safety, what it means to be a responsible gun owner, and how to minimize the risks to children and others from unsecured weapons. Join this important conversation by and for the Jewish community, to be held on Sunday, February 25 at 4:00 ET. Register HERE.

Ready to make a difference?

Here are three ways to get started:

1. Tell Congress to reject harmful policy changes on the government funding bills!

Congress has only a few weeks left to pass bills to fund the federal government. Some members of Congress are trying to attach policy changes to the funding bills that they can’t get passed through the regular process. These include restrictions on abortions, attacks on vulnerable communities, and policies that are harmful to the environment, to consumers, and to workers. Click here to send an email to your members of Congress, urging them to reject ‘poison pill policy riders.’

2. Share the voices of victims of gun violence!

Our colleagues at Change the Ref and March for Our Lives used AI to recreate the voices of loved ones who were killed with firearms. Click here to send a message to Congress in the voice of a victim of gun violence.

3. Learn about TikTok's role in promoting October 7 disinformation!

Disinformation about October 7 is rampant on social media. Read this article by JWI’s new Senior Director of Strategic Communications, Laura Adkins, about how TikTok is promoting highly polarized and inaccurate content about Hamas’s attack on October 7.
